Even when there are two. After solo projects, Filip and Lukáš, also known as Glassbrothers, got to the point where they created a common, unique identity HOUDEK.ART with their own manuscripts. Now they have changed the concept of their studio HG Atelier Design s.r.o. and moved purely to the art scene.
Together they create and present their unique pieces of art inspired by various themes. Among the most famous and today iconic works of these creators are those from the project Obsession - Obsession, inspired by world cycling. Artist and designer, founder of the art project MADE IN BOR and GLASSBROTHERS, founder of the HOUDEK.ART studio, owner of the HG Atelier Design company. He graduated from the Glass School of Art and Industry in Kamenický Šenov, listed in the UNESCO cultural heritage program as the oldest glass school in the world, and the Glass School of Art in Nové Bor, where he completed an internship in Utrecht in the Netherlands and at the GIC in Leerdam (Glass International Centre) In 2008, he completed an internship in in Bergamo, Italy at the Scuola Silv - School of Design and Fashion Design in the field of interior design and after that he worked as an interior architect for the fashion brand La Officina Della Moda of the Villa family.
Already during his studies in Holland in 1998, he founded the HG Atelier studio and began to cooperate with the most important personalities and companies in the field of glass and art. Among the most prestigious are Baccarat, Vista Alegre, Louis Vuitton, Moser, Lasvit, DB Architect, Todus, Hans Van Bentem, Aric Levi, René Roubíček, Audemars Piquet, Horizon Yacht, and many others.
The most famous works of Filip Houdek undoubtedly include the light object ARMSTRONG from the OBSESSION project, which he designed together with his brother Lukáš. This unique object, dedicated in many ways to the controversial personality Lance Armstrong, was part of many domestic and foreign exhibitions. Together with his brother, he forms an artistic duo. Their works are represented in the most prestigious galleries and museums not only in Europe. The latest art project of the two brothers called "PASSION" is focused on motorsport and the world around it. It thus pushes the boundaries of art in this area and appeals not only to the automotive public with a completely exceptional approach.
Glass artist and designer Lukáš Houdek (b. 1988) graduated from the University of Applied Arts in Prague. He has experience working for international studios and famous glass brands like Moser as well as working with private clients. In HG ATELIER DESIGN he works as a designer with his brother Filip.
He looks for a combination of materials in his artwork. It is a dialogue between product design and fine art. He works on various projects from art direction to glass design. His work includes everyday products, gallery objects and limited series. He mostly returns to the most classic references of Czech glassmaking, which he connects with new stimuli. He tries to develop the technical and visual boundaries of the glass department. He has been awarded several times for his works.
He is very passionate about glass and light, traditional materials and high quality craftsmanship. He looks for new ways of using traditional glass elements and focuses on themes of pop culture and parody. Hyperboles and jokes are characteristic for him. His goal is to give things a spirit and create new interesting art objects. Together with his brother Filip, he forms the artistic duo GLASSBROTHERS working in the joint studio HOUDEK.ART. Their works have been presented in the most prestigious galleries and museums around the world.
