ZVĚROKOLO

Zvěrokolo I is a functional sculpture. A readymade object transformed into an artifact that does not fear movement. The road bike, one of the purest instruments of human mobility, has not been halted here, but merely suspended for a moment, like a breath held before inhalation, or a pedal stroke just before a steep climb.

It is not about standing still. This bike moves. It can ride. It is meant to ride. Yet, it is also there to be observed. To be revered. It is primed for both adoration and the road.

Lukáš has fitted the frame with hand-shaped antlers of clear crystal, modeled after those of a fallow deer, perhaps even a stag. These fragile forms have replaced the handlebars. They are neither a symbol of a trophy, nor mere decoration. They are a direction. Nature takes the helm.

The formal composition evokes the tradition of hunting trophies, but instead of a fallen animal, we witness an act of union. This is not a victory over nature, but a return to it through technology. An attempt to achieve harmony between the human hand, mechanical precision, and primal instinct.

The combination of carbon, stainless steel, blown glass, and gold creates a contrast between the mass-produced and the singular, between utility and spirituality. Here, all elements converge: machine and animal, speed and contemplation, performance and instinct.

The work carries no single, fixed meaning. It is the result of a subconscious, organic process, a creation born not of a plan, but of a necessity.

Listen to your instinct. And keep riding.
